Some rules of English Articles

Some rules of English Articles you must know. 

1. With uncountable noun 

Indefinite articles (a/an) cannot be used with uncountable noun i.e. noun that are impossible count like water,  ice, information etc. 
Ex. Please give me an information (incorrect) 
Please give me some information ( correct) 

2. With Pronoun

With pronoun that are possessive in nature meaning, they show some kind of ownership like his , her, my, your, there, etc. articles cannot be used. 

3. Omission 

i. Articles are omitted before certain nouns when there is no need to add a word because the meaning is implied or if the noun talk about an abstract idea. 
Ex. The creativity is valuable in children. (incorrect) 
Creativity is valuable in children. (correct)

ii. Many languages and nationalities do not need articles to precede. 

iii. When we say the French , we mean the French people and not be the French language or the nationalities French. We do not use an article when we want to talk about French as a language .

iv. Sport and academy subjects also do not require any articles. Notice how we never say The Science or The Mathematics or The Basketball etc. 

v. We always say things like I am good at English or I really like playing cricket.
